Well, my riding experience started a bit later than some of you. I've had dirt bikes - Yamaha 175 IT and Yamaha 465 YZ. Enjoyed them a lot, but didn't get my first street bike until about 1993. That was a used 1980 Yamaha 850 Midnight Special. A great looking bike - black with gold chrome. It was a comfortable ride also - not having much to compare it to. I did a Yellowstone trip, and a couple of Idaho Trips, but not more than about 3,000 to 5,000 mile per year. Then in 2000 I got a new Victory sport Cruiser. A 92 cubic inch powerhouse. That was a big upgrade for me. And I was starting to put a few more miles on my motorcycles. It wasn't until 2005 that a very good friend introduced me to BMW's. He had an 1150 RT and a K1200GT. I was impressed, and started shopping. With a 2004 R1150GS and a 2003 K1200GT, now I'm certifiably insane about riding - 30,000 to 35,000 miles per year. I guess I'm making up for lost time.
